Resting on the flight to Egypt

Another one of my favorites at this time of year. I know it is early but it is seasonal, none the less. To think that the sphinx and the pyramids were already there in Egypt when the Holy Family fled Bethlehem to avoid our sweet Lord's execution by King Herod. Our Lord was only days old and God told Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt until He told them it was safe to return. Amazing!!!

Every year at Christmas I think about our blessed Mother and what she must have felt when she delivered our Lord, Jesus Christ to us. Her emotions, wonderment and awe must have been over powering. This artwork is on a Christmas card our mother Kay sent to us a couple of years ago - I have it framed and set it out every year to remind me of our Blessed Virgin's gift to the world.

It is almost that time of the year. This is my absolute favorite and I make it every year for Christmas - except for the year it was so humid and it fell apart.
